Hello everyone. I know I have not posted in some time and after having a new baby and taking several months off from WoW I recently returned. I have not been blogging much and have wanted to start again and today some news dropped that was too big to ignore.
In patch 6.0 the Alliance and Horde auction houses will merge. Thats right. Cross-faction auction houses will now be the standard in all cities. The blue poster, Watcher, says this is due to imbalance issues with factions and the fact that a faction with a smaller population struggles to maintain a healthy economy. I am not sure if I should be excited or scared by this prospect. I suppose in the end it brings up the same arguments that connected realms do, more competition but more buyers. It will be harder to control markets but there may be less need with so many buyers.
My biggest concern is always that guy that does nothing but camp the auction house all day every day constantly canceling and re-posting taking all the sales. I guess if that happens I will have to find a new markets but we will have to see how it plays out.
I also have to wonder what the common player's reaction to this would be and if this system will somehow be abused. Yet another area that will remain to be seen. I hope that beta will help to play out these issues so they can be addressed before going live.
Another question is what will happen to the neutral auction houses? Will the go away? My hope is that they just become regular auction houses in remote areas.
Last, all of our favorite app makers and websites will probably have some work ahead of them to update their software for AH scans. Hopefully it is an easy fix and not too much work. Good luck Sapu.
What do you think about this? I am curious for our community's reaction.
P.S. Blizzard, maybe you can add the BMAH to the API now?
